Manufacturing Process Engineer

Job Summary: This position works directly with production manufacturing personnel, purchasing, and quality department in a cross-functional environment to create and implement comprehensive processes for the manufacture of aerospace and commercial components with a focus on gear and splines.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Create manufacturing plans for producing aerospace and commercial parts through all machining, special processing and assembly operations.
  • Design work holding and custom gaging.
  • Document and prepare work instructions.
  • Propose changes to reduce cost and improve manufacturability.
  • Nonconformance investigation including root cause and corrective actions, assessment of further process improvements.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to manage change.
  • Routinely communicate with customers and suppliers.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

  • 3 years minimum experience in manufacturing or related field
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes: turning, milling, grinding, shaping and hobbing is beneficial.
  • Excellent communications skills and ability to work in a team atmosphere.
  • Proficiency in 2D CAD and solid modeling.       AutoCad and SolidWorks preferred.

Calibration Manager

As the Calibration Manager you would oversee all instruments requiring calibration, perform positive recall of instruments, perform calibrations of standard instruments, schedule calibrations of instruments when outside calibration is required, maintain our instrument database & instrument status (we use GageTrak), order new instruments when required, train employees on proper use of instruments when required and assist in setting instruments when required.

Job Requirements:

  • Must be proficient in use of computers
  • Must be organized
  • Must be fluent in English

Quality Engineer

Core Responsibilities:

  • Review customer contracts for quality requirements and ensure that quality requirements are incorporated into manufacturing process
  • Determine inspection requirements and required resources
  • Identify strategic points in manufacturing process to inspect parts and engineer detailed inspection operation(s)
  • Bubble drawings and create inspection reports from bubbled drawings.  Use of Discus software a plus.
  • Assist in transitioning to a new ERP system; load Quality Processing information into ERP system to ensure data is accurate and reliable

Job Requirements:

  • Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints.
  • Strong understanding of the manufacturing process; process engineering background is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of manual inspection methods and CMM inspection methods
  • Familiar with Quality Management Systems, AS9100 & ISO9001 preferred.
  • Familiar with Aerospace industry quality requirements.
  • Familiar with bubble/balloon drawings and methods used to create bubbles/ballooned drawings.
  • Able to communicate effectively, work individually or as part of a team and be detail oriented.
  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing is a plus
