Bevel Gears
We specialize in fine pitch straight bevel gear sets used in flight critical applications, many of which we produce from high nickel alloys. We use both Coniflex and straight Gleason bevel gear generating equipment, depending upon pitch or module.
Critical to producing a quality bevel gear set is maintaining the highly precise bearing patterns between the two gears, as defined by your design. Making sure these bearing patterns are corerct is essential in order for the gear set to operate smoothly and wear predictably.
We use the "red lead" and "blue high spot" inspection methods on all of our bevel gear sets to test for these mesh and bearing patterns. In addition, we can provide you with photographic evidence of these bearing pattern tests, if you require it.
